What is the FDD?
The Franchise Disclosure Document is a statement used in the franchising process in the United States. It provides
important information about the company is operations, the franchise relationship, and it includes the franchise agreement.
Its purpose is to help franchisees determine if a particular franchise opportunity is right for them.
Does Maoz provide financing programs?
No. Maoz does not offer direct financing and does not have any affiliate programs with third-party lending sources. We believe
that the franchise owner should have sufficient capital, of its own to purchase and operate the restaurant.
Do I need to have restaurant management experience?
We will provide you with the training and on going support that you need. If you do not have any experience in quick service
restaurant management it is highly recommended that you hire an experienced principal operator to run the restaurant.
We recommend that at least one owner or a designated manager will be involved on a full-time basis managing day to day
operations and to gain hands-on experience.
What is the return on the investment?
We believe that a significant part of the success of the business depends on the chosen location, the amount of time you spend
in your store, and your ability to control the operating costs. We are not permited by the Federal Trade Commission, and are
restricted by franchise law, to provide profit or earnings predictions.
Who selects the restaurant location?
Finding the perfect location is one of the hardest challenges you will face. You will be in charge of finding the location but we will
assist you during this process. We will provide you with all of our knowledge and a great deal of time to support you during this
search. At the end of the day, it is in both your interest and ours to find the most suitable location. We will review the proposed
options and approve a location that will meet our site criteria.
Who is responsible of the design and construction of the store?
As soon as you join the Maoz family, we begin working with you to help you get started. In our franchise kit you will find store
design guidance, an architectural section including a Maoz Vegetarian store prototype layout, detailed store plans and an
equipment spec. You will work with your Maoz representative and our chain architect, kitchen consultant and design agency to
develop and build the Maoz restaurant. We will also help you to order the equipment package according to our equioment spec
and will be available to answer construction related questions during the project.
How long does it take to open the restaurant?
It is very difficult to provide a time frame because there are many different factors that can influence the process in each location.
However, from the time a franchise agreement is signed, it usually takes approximately 6 – 8 months to open a restaurant. One
of the main challenges is finding the perfect location and negotiating the lease. Estimated construction time is 2 – 3 months.
Do I receive assistance in opening the restaurant?
Yes. In addition to your 2 week initial training period, an experienced field operations consultant will help you and your staff
before your new Maoz restaurant is ready for the grand opening and during the first days of the operation.
How much freedom do I have to change things within the MAOZ formula?
A lot of time and effort has gone into creating the Maoz experience. Therefore there is very limited freedom for making changes.
The power of any franchise, including our brand, relies on the fact that you gain access and can make use of our knowledge
accumulated over time, which should allow you to succeed.
What kind of on going support does Maoz provide?
Once the franchise agreement is signed, you will receive the Maoz franchise kit which includes the brand identity guideline
book, the operation manual and the architecture section. This kit is what we like to call the franchisee “bible”, as it covers many
important aspects that will assist you in the business operations. Our field representative will pay you visits and will always
be available to answer any questions you may have. We are always excited to offer our advice and guidance with issues such
as quality control, customer service, marketing, training and any other aspect that has to do with the daily operations and
managing the business.
Can I open more than one store?
We welcome experienced qualified groups from the quick-service restaurant industry to explore our franchise options to open
multiple Maoz locations. Based on your application, financial information, and prior experience, you may be eligible to purchase
more than one Maoz restaurant. Once you open the first Maoz restaurant and gain hands on experience and knowledge of
building and operating the restaurant, you will be qualified to open multiple locations and grow with our company. You will be
more familiar with the business and we will encourage you to open multiple locations.
